The 3rd fifteen or as they like to be known the "Socialites" are at the vanguard of the social playing side at Currie rugby club. The main protagonists within this section of the club are all Currie stalwarts who have done their bit for the club over the years. Mixed in with these “main” faces are a mixture of youth and a mixture of players who want to come along and enjoy a good quality Friday evening or Saturday afternoon with a great bunch of blokes. The rugby is still very competitive; however we are great believers in the true ethos of the games spirit.

The "Socialites" currently play in the Edinburgh 3rd XV league, where recent seasons have been fairly successful. Indeed last season we came an extremely close second place to a very strong and experienced Edinburgh Accies team. Congratulations to them on winning the league. On top of this league commitment the "Socialites" are always on the look out for friendly fixtures both home and away. The team captain for season 2007/2008 is none other than that archetypal socialite Eric “The Viking” Campbell. Eric is famed for his eclectic sense of fancy dress and has been likened to a young Jimmy Saville while on nights out. Eric is also a great believer in the Currie ethos of do enough to win the game, then drink the opposition’s beer and if you’re lucky eat their pies also.

Training nights are on Tuesdays and Thursday along with the main body of the club. Please make it along to as many sessions as you can.
